First Biter Biscuit

Last weekend, Todd went to the gym, and Erin was "napping." I needed to keep Sara entertained so I could make some food for our football get together with my sister. Sara doesn't do well with finger foods. She can pick them up but won't put them in her mouth. So for kicks, I decided to give her a biter biscuit and a sippy. Surprisingly, she did well with the Biter. Not so well with the sippy, unless you consider well the dropping game. (Drop sippy. See if Mommy picks up. When she does, wait until she turns around, then drop sippy again. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.)

While I was taking pictures of Sara, Erin insisted I take a picture of her eating dry Cocoa Puffs with a spoon. Fine. It kept both girls happy long enough for me to get done what I needed to!

Planks

If I could do planks as easily as Sara does, I'd be a lot thinner. That's for sure. Sara will do them when she stops crawling, and she'll stay that way. The other night she was crying and crying, but wouldn't stop planking. Honey, if you're tired, stop. You can rest a bit.

But it's so cute when she does it.

And she wouldn't give up on the Vikings' ball either. I think this girl is in for a lifetime of disappointment from her football team.

Sing for Your Supper, pt 2

Here's a second video of Erin singing at dinner time last night.

And here is Sara's reaction to all this going on....

My little Curly Q

So, Erin has Todd's hair, and my brown eyes. Sara has Todd's bright blue eyes, and...my hair? But only when it's wet.

Here's Sara with dry hair...

And now with wet hair....

The difference is amazing!

Sing for your supper, part 1

Many times dinner winds up being a sing along. Usually, Erin just insists we sing songs for her. Other times, well, she does the serenading.

Last night was one of these nights.

New Year, New Blog

A new beginning, a new blog. I've been a severe slacker on the blogging front and I'd like to get back to it. Posting more than just pictures, too. Some funny stories.

Who are we? I realized a while ago that our first initials spelled BEST (when arranged the right way of course). Add that to the fact that all of our names are 4 letters (or in my case, can be shortened to 4 letters), and I tried to think of that as a jumping off point to start a new blog. The Fantastic Feely Four. The BEST family. Yep.

Todd aka Daddy. Although, when he doesn't answer our frustrated toddler, you can hear the exasperation in her voice when she says, "Todd!" (Hmmmm.....I wonder where she got that from????)

Barb aka Mommy, and lately Mama (and the author of this blog) - For some reason, our darling daughter has gone back to calling me Mama, when she'd started calling me Mommy a lot sooner than I thought she would. I think Mama is coming from her wanting to be a baby again, since she feels her sister gets so much more attention. Only natural because the baby needs us more, but I'm sure it's frustrating for her. And she knows she can use the Mama to tug at my heartstrings and try to get her way.

Erin - our toddler. She's closer to three than to two. I realized that recently, that three was coming up very soon. And I wonder where the time has gone. Time never marches so fast in your life as it does when you kids are little and changing so much, so fast. She's bossy and demanding and a two year old in every sense of the word.

Sara - our baby. Very close to turning one year old. Though I hope someone will call April Fool on me and we'll be able to turn back the clock. It's only hit me lately just HOW big she's gotten. I can't really remember the 7 lb 14 oz girl I first met in the hospital. The stubborn one who decided to throw back her head so she could get stuck in my pelvis and refuse to budge. From everything that led up to her being born, I'd never have guessed she'd be the laid back, sweet, charming child she is. Although maybe I should have known by how long the biophysical profiles took. And that's our family, in a nutshell. I don't have a recent family picture to upload, so here's one of the cutest members of our family....
